Hi I'm Jacob! I'm a people person who also loves dogs. I'm a noisy drummer who also loves meditation and yoga.

My hobbies and passions: I've been a musician for most of my life (mostly drums since I was 12), love swimming, cooking a nutritious meal, stretching on the yoga mat, going out into nature to watch some wildlife, and I can never go wrong with a night in to watch a movie and drink wine!

I am all about living in the present moment and enjoying every experience for what it is. To me, life is one huge adventure filled with endless possibilities.

I'm fully vaccinated and ready to explore every corner of the world!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First of all, I am not using this site just to get free accommodation and free meals. Secondly, I am not "on holiday" and just acting like a typical tourist: seeing all the big attractions and then moving on.

While travelling around the world, I want to fully immerse myself with the local culture. This includes everything from staying in local homes, to trying new food, getting about via public transport, and exploring all the natural landscapes that aren't just in the middle of the capital cities. I want to experience what it's like to actually live in each country that I visit!

Couchsurfing has already given me some amazing opportunities and experiences... from meeting people who are willing to open their homes to me and welcome me like an old friend, to also hanging out and getting to know fellow travellers in my area.

I believe that whoever we are and wherever we come from, we all have things that we can share and learn from one another. As fun as hostels can be, staying with people on Couchsurfing allows people to form very special bonds and potentially life-long friendships!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: it all depends on my mood, but my main genres include reggae, hip hop, drum & bass, movie soundtracks, rock and extreme metal.

Movies: I'm rather obsessed with Marvel and DC movies, as well as Star Wars and other action/sci fi classics.

Books: my all-time favourites are The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2023: I got to pilot a small helicopter around Perth, Australia!

2022: skydiving in Mission Beach, Australia!

2015: doing a sponsored walk for charity with my dad: from my hometown to Central London (110 miles) in just 3 days!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share my passions with other people, and I experience so much joy in watching people progress with things. If you host me I will most likely chat to you about the health benefits of yoga, meditation, breathwork and plant-based eating. I also very much enjoy giving drum lessons, or having a jam with other musicians!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm very polite, friendly and compassionate. I treat everybody the same and do what I can to return some of the kindness that my hosts have given me.

I am very open minded to trying and experiencing new things while I travel, as it helps me have a more memorable adventure and also allows me to grow as a person!

I enjoy cooking with/for other people, sharing stories, giving people advice, and keeping my couch/bed nice and tidy.
