About Me

Update 22.2.2024

My current traveling plan is finding a way back to China by land and arrive before May. And at the end of May, I will start my new journey as a WHVer in Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

In January, I did an interail train trip from Barcelona to Paris, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Vienna, and Budapest. On half of the journey, I chose the route to visit friends who I would love to see again before I left Europe. At the same time, I discovered the amazement of Couchsurfing along the way, and received countless kindness and inspiration from my hosts.( I’m sososo grateful 💜

Then I ended up in Turkey.I spent 1week in Istanbul by Couchsurfing. Now I’m about to finish my 2weeks volunteering life on a farm near Istanbul. Spontaneously, I’m going to join a road trip along the western coast of Turkey to Antalya with 4 coolest people I met from the farm.

My next destination is Georgia, let’s see what will happen there:)

December 2023

Hi there! I'm Yuru, 23 years old. Studied in France, worked in Germany, and now, I'm on a gap year adventure. Originally from China, I'm all about laughter and keeping that positive vibe in life.

Recently I completed walking of Camino de Santiago, a 900km adventure across northern Spain in 6 weeks, marking the start of my gap year and a truly transformative journey.

Currently I’m doing a volunteer in a social hostel in Barcelona, where I really enjoyed and felt like a second home away from my home. I’ve honed skills as a day activity leader, cook, party leader and night security. I learned how to take care of guests and be responsible in a team.

And in September, I was a backpacker in Morocco. I stayed in a surfing hostel near Agadir for 2 weeks, where I had inspiring encounters and also received lifelong friendships there. And then I dived deep to Western Sahara alone and discovered the richness of local experiences by making friends with the local people and traveling with them.

I loved my journey so far very much. I am looking for a sustainable way to connect people and explore different cultures, communities, rather than just visiting attractions

That’s what brings me here :))

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet real travelers, connect the local people…

I would like to be a host after finishing my traveling:) it’s also a great way for me to learn the ways

Music, Movies, and Books

My music tastes are very inclusive:) most of time jazz, souls, R&B in my headphones, but also love to dance with latino music in party and enjoy techno:)

I would like to collect songs from different languages:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked the Camino de Santiago the French way, covering 900km in 6 weeks without any transportation. I started alone, but I met amazing people on the way, and we formed connections that felt like family.

I quit my bachelor degree in China right before my graduation, and decided to transfer my academic credits to France, an experience that took me very far from home for the first time and brought me a start of my unforgettable journey in Europe.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would love to exchange languages and cultures. I lived in China for 22 years which is a totally different society compared to Europe.

I love to listen different life stories & ideas. And I’m very open to share my experiences:) we might find some inspirations from each other

What I Can Share with Hosts

Love cooking and to share vegetarian recipes :)
