I'm an artist, performer, teacher, and a divorced mother of 3. I volunteer in my community. I run a dance company that focuses on the traditional dances of West Africa, South Africa, and the Caribbean. I'm looking forward to lots of traveling this summer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I left my corporate job because I was burnt out and dealing with an injury. I've shifted focus to my dance company and the children that I teach in my community. Now that I have time, I want to go to dance conferences held across the US. Couchsurfing will allow me to save on these trips and meet cool people at the same time. I love to travel but I hate tourist-type experiences. I like to know how locals enjoy their cities. Also, I'm such a homebody that even when I travel, I like being at "home" instead of running around town all day and night.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My 3 biggest personal accomplishments:

I had a natural, VBAC, at home birth with my largest baby.
I danced with Les Twins 8 times.
I've taught thousands of kids over the past 20 years and when I went to visit one of my former students, I learned that he taught his kids things he learned from me including a song that names all the countries in Africa. I cried!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am an AMAZING cook. I started cooking at 5 years old under my auntie and grandmother. I love so many cuisines from all over the world. I can make pretty much anything but I specialize in flavorful vegan and vegetarian dishes that make you question your life choices. If you want to impress your friends with a dinner party catered by me, I'm down.

I can give lessons on any of my many skills or help you with any projects you have.

I'm a face painter and bodypainter. I'm down to barter those services also.
