About Me

-- please read my "HOME" section's "Additional information" before sending a request, it takes only about 3-4 minutes of your time --

I used to be more active and be a couchsurfing ambassador before, but is not so active anymore, so serious requests only ;)

##############################################################################
Couchsurfing is a lot more about cultural exchange than just a place to sleep. If you are solely looking for a free place to sleep or to just leave your bags and party; then please get a hostel or a storage locker.

P.S. Copy-Paste requests will be automatically denied 😆
##############################################################################

Born in a city of 30 million people (New Delhi), I moved to a smaller one in Hamburg (October 2018), and then to Berlin (August 2019).

Professionally I'm an engineer who works on computer-magic-stuff and work for climate action with a small startup in Berlin. I also like to produce music, go on adventures and do photography. I've well-travelled to a good number of countries (and I'm telling you, it was on a really really cheap budget, or my trips were funded somehow - more on that later).

I enjoy the spirit of Couchsurfing and have been lucky enough to meet hundreds of wonderful people with very interesting stories. If you're into personality types, I'm an INTJ type person, and would be curious to know what's yours! ☺️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started Couchsurfing when a friend of mine told me about it in an event I participated in Helsinki (November 2017). I turned up to this app to meet travellers and locals, make friends, hear interesting or/and unheard stories, and having a really good time when you're travelling alone.

For the true spirit of Couchsurfing, I hosted a lot of people in Hamburg, and now in Berlin. I hope to meet people who are reading this (my couch is waiting for you haha)! I also have a curious mind, and always want to learn more from others around me. Teach me something please :D Haha!

Music, Movies, and Books

I was part of my high school choir for about 6 years, but I barely used to play instruments or listen to music for long hours.

Since the past few years, I've started listening multiple genres and also started baby steps in music production as a hobby. I play a piano now and an ukulele!

This is my fav playlist on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/user/manojp96/playlist/23kSufSrSSwnLiP0EYI8jd
and my own music is uploaded here: https://soundcloud.com/onlyrealmvp

My first single album is now on Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer etc .. You can search by "Under Water Manoj" :) (blue album art)

Movies: All Nolan movies. Love them all. At the same time, not a big fan of movies. Only watch them for entertainment, even forget the names later and also the cast xD

Books: Mostly Non-fiction. All books and podcasts by Malcolm Gladwell, Zero to One by Peter Thiel, The hard thing about hard things by Ben Horowitz and many more along the same lines.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'll share three:

1. Got filmed in Oslo by #backtosocial - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o50bduPljUg - one of the most memorable trips of my life (Thanks to Marius/Chris/Kim/Ida/Doni)

2. Won a hackathon that gave me a grand prize of a fully-funded trip to Harvard University in Boston when I was 19 - this event kickstarted my travelling journey actually! That was one heck of a journey to the US and exploring Boston! I was amazed on my first ever flight trip, and had never boarded any domestic flight before - it was pretty crazy !! Met a lot of people, had fun with my team and also started to explore new places on my own after that.

3. Got super drunk at a random party and ended up 100 km away from that place in Thailand. Woke up to the disaster that I will have to take multiple transports to get back to my place where I was staying, and also relieved that I'm not kidnapped (or was I?) XD

Teach, Learn, Share

- I can definitely teach you tricks and tips of solo travelling, how to make budget trips and nearly free trips as well haha!

- If you want to get some wisdom, I'm not the best person - but will do my bit. Also, I'll be really interested in hearing your interesting stories.

- I know a big number of people around the world, but specifically if you'd need a place to stay/people to meet in Amsterdam, Paris, Hamburg, Berlin, Prague or cities where I have really close friends - then I can help you find a place there!

- We can play/duo some music together. I have a piano at home and an concert ukulele.

- If you want local suggestions for food, drinks, sightseeing - I'm an amazing list!!
- If you want the best parties in Berlin, I certainly know the best spots! :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

- Definitely, a warm place to stay (trust me, it's sometimes quite warm like in India ahah)
- I have my bike that you can use if I'm not using it at that time
- I can share some cooked food at home
- My ukulele, and piano, if you are interested in music
- How to speak a little bit of different languages
- You'll leave Berlin with good memories, and possibly a local friend ^_^
