About Me

Hello!

My name is Soumaya. I'm a guest student currently living in Michigan, USA. I'm originally from Tunisia, North Africa. I'm an architecture student, currently studying psychology at SVSU. 🇹🇳🇺🇸

I'm passionate about art and history. I love deep conversations, as well taking the risks to try new adventures.

I'm super glad to join Couchsurfing community, since I discoverd that I want to be a traveler for the rest of my life.

I'm good at creating Art, but I won't call myself an artist. I'm a humble learner.
I love the intellectual side the most and I always chase it.✨

I love to discover new cities, I would call myself a museum girl. I'm a messy poet and a humble writer. An arabic literature lover and beyond.

I want to have an interesting ride and journey , I want to write my own story. I'm doing this because I believe in real life opportunities.

Sharing and learning new cultures amaze me. I'm an open book and a good storyteller, sensative to art and everything related to it.

I love womanhood and female energy, it's inspirational. I want to start hosting as well, once I'm back to my home country Tunisia. 🇹🇳

I would love to believe that I would have the chance to finish a phD, or keep traveling and getting fulfilled instead, both ways are beautiful paths. 🌎

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a beautiful soul, she was my host in Traverse City, Michigan. It was an unexpected adventure!

"Dear Cu,

I fell in love with Michigan for a lot of reasons, and one of them is becoming you. Linking my spirit forever to the North, where I've already left a part of me. I've experienced a special bond, endless talks about life and its philosophy, with an open heart to share her passion for the land, art, and beyond. Such authentic feelings, made me dive deep inside my own thoughts and ask more questions. I loved our sharing experience. Listening, expressing and getting to know you better through our captivating open conversations. Building a different perspective, and enriching my cultural and intellectual desire to know more meanings, charm, and strength.

A truly inspirational, unique woman who makes womanhood feel like a fairytale and loves exploring, with her existence linked to the roots of earth, a strong appreciation of her mysterious aspects. I loved exploring you, and talking to you felt naturally, (for some reasons that I ignore), uncomplicated. Such a beautiful traveling mentor with a vibrant heart of a true giver and the most youthful spirit, way more youthful than mine.

For some reason, what we have in common, led those beautiful down to earth conversations to a level of true chemistry, that I truly enjoyed. I felt impressed and fulfilled the most during the road trips that we had. Your love for nature, art, and traveling left me speechless, I can't thank you enough for being an exotic person, your fragments and the outstanding path that you took in life are worth celebrating.

What is charming and special, is that I've always wanted to travel, but I didn't know how to start and when, and it's one of the reasons I wake up and fight, to be in real-life communications and to learn from openness how to embrace cultural diversities and eventually keep searching for those opportunities to inspire, and keep getting inspired.

I want to thank my special human being, for being the most caring host ever. Your true feelings are priceless, getting to know you more is therapeutic. Traverse City is a very poetic place, a land of cherries and unique landscapes. Getting to learn from a tasteful person like you, filled me with a lot of things to remember. I truly think that I gained a truthful cultural experience from what you have taught me about resistance, such pleasurable harmonious moments that I’ve spent with you led me to reflect more.

Keep experimenting life, with compassion. May it leads you to the infinite roads of adventures. It changed my perspective, a beautiful witness of my successful artistic journey. I used to stare at the beautiful stories of people going around the world until I got the chance to share, a glimpse of my own story. No matter the reason that links humans to chase traveling, I believe that being a host or a guest can be the light of a tunnel. I can't wait to start hosting people in Tunisia, once I return back. Never underestimate the power of love and passion. Keep documenting and sharing, beautiful souls, among them you my dear Cu."
