HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I go to lots of CS meetings and gatherings. These have been more valuable to me than hosting or being hosted since I have met so many new and dear friends in the towns where I have lived and expanded my social circle so much. As someone who has moved to Europe from America with very few friends and moved around a lot to different cities, it was very difficult to meet people and make lasting friendships before CS. Without CS to introduce me to so many new people, I think my time in Europe would have been much lonelier and less enjoyable. CS has given me an extended family.

In 2008 I was an organizer for Berlin WinterCamp 2008 which was an amazing experience. I also designed and developed the website for WinterCamp www.berlinwintercamp.org so I guess now I am really involved with Couchsurfing in a big way. It's a huge part of my life now...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Wow I've been with CS for over 18 years now! I've mostly hosted so far and only couchsurfed maybe a dozen times because I really prefer sleeping in a bed rather than on a couch! But I'm not a snob, just like to be comfortable :) However once in a while I like to humble myself and sleep on a hard, cold floor for a night (just to better appreciate the real comforts in life).

Intereses

Travel, photography, music, culture, history, astrology, learning music, downloading music, visiting new countries, learning new languages. I'm also the kind of person who prefers parties and dinners at home rather than going out clubbing till 7 in the morning. With a few exceptions, I find most late night clubs and club music extremely boring and uninspiring.
